Could someone explain to me, why people feel the need to form 'factions'?

Minecraft gets lonely when your on your own... Ya know? :/

But why not just make a town with friends, and that's the end of it. With all these different 'factions' it really separates the community. My opinion.

You're got a point, Lm. A lot of people don't even stick to one faction.

I have no clue why, but I like to feel separated from other people. Even in real life, I am "Unique". I think people just want to feel unique and apart from others themselves, but they also want a fellowship/brotherhood/thing.

Mob mentality.
The human-creatures feel more empowered by gathering together in their little gang-clusters.
They can more easily justify and gain support in antagonistic and/or legally questionable endeavors.
(Also they have somebody to leech diamonds off of.)

Playing with friends is far more fun, and building up wealth together. It's awesome.

I agree though, it can get a bit out of hand when it's the same old factions, with nothing to separate them from the others.

Most factions accept everyone, that's a flaw. It's to easy to get in to most of them.

In my opinion, on MineRealm, a faction is a group of friends that are not linked by realm, but rather by some other thing like PVP. However, i think that meaning has been distorted.

If your all putting together to make a new bunch of Realms, i would either call it a 'Realm' or an Empire

Either way, there isn't much difference.

In my eyes, a faction is like a group of PVP'ers, maybe not from the same Realm but just call themselves something else when they PVP.
