I was thinking of making my own nether wart farm, and I had a few questions.

1) will nether wart grow if I'm in the Overworld?
2) my portal is synced with Kingofturves', and I was wondering if I needed permission to make a farm next to it.

1) No, it will not.
2) If you want you can make a farm inside the old portal in the dark catacombs of Ebius.

Also, I would suggest keeping your farm VERY hidden, because anyone is allowed to loot your farm.

Also worth noting, is that you should not light your farm with burning netherrack blocks. When I (and possibly others) tunnel around I will divert to noisy areas to take a look and if the result is your farm, then jackpot!

Wow, thanks for telling me where to look.

Basically the best way to run it is to go at it like a drug dealer would watch his own crops and be very paranoid. Dig far away from paths that people can walk by so they cant see your name tag. Then stand gaurd while they grow. I usually just watch tv while mine grow and come back to harvest the new ones and keep expanding my farm as they do.

I usually do mine craft wiki as mentioned, but it was very vague about this and just said 'a lot of time must be spent in the nether while they grow...' and I wasn't sure what it meant by that. Also, when you say 'it must be hidden...' I know that there are no realms in the nether, but mods can still check who broke a block, right?

On a completely unrelated note: Isn't it possible for me to build a portal in the nether so that it generates one in someone else's private realm?

In theory, yes. But there are so many portals in both the overworld and the nether on this server that even if you put a portal in the nether coordinates corresponding to exactly where you want to create a new portal, it would probably connect to an existing overworld portal anyway.

Its completely legal to destroy blocks to get to your nether warts and then, in turn, steal them.

Its only illegal if they clearly used x-ray hacks to find it.
