I've been playing MineRealm for a week-ish, and haven't really been chatting. But I did chat with a couple people my first two days, so my chat did work at some point. I tried to say something today, because someone said my name, and got the error message 'Cannot send chat message.' It happened a couple more times, but it's only when I try to say something so everyone can see. If I message someone individually it lets me say stuff to them.
Staff, do you know what's wrong? I want to be able to be social, plus I want to sell some stuff. :/

Did you do '/chat' to turn main chat off? Another possibility is the message recipient was not online so it could not be sent.

Nope, chat is on. I checked. It still doesn't work
It lets me message people, but not say things out loud.

Make sure you're pressing "T" to open the chat GUI, and not "/". Pressing "/" to open the chat GUI will automatically put a slash in front of your message and sending it will cause the server to think you're entering a command. Though, doing this should give you something like "Unknown command."

Get the error again and take a screenshot (via F2) and post it as an attachment at http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=132

I think I had a similar issue and it was cause I changed the chat settings.
Try hitting ESC> options> multi player settings > click Chat till it says Shown.
The other options for that Chat button seems to stop letting you talk in public chat.

Good to know I have had a few other players who had a issue with talking in main chat as well maybe that is the issue.
