I want to buy sandstone for my project
http://map.minerealm.com/map/#/-1465/64/2796/-1/0/0
but of course i can't get many sellers because i get "Diamond Exchange said it's worth 225 per stack"
and this is not pointing out anyone specific but I hear this alot... and get called a rip off because these prices at diamond exchange are outrageously high.

Change your prices, SERIOUSLY! I WOULD NOT PAY MORE THAN 30 REALM CREDITS FOR 4 STACKS OF SAND MASHED INTO YELLOW ROCK.

-P.S. It takes about 1 minute to get 4 stacks of sand with a diamond shovel (not enchanted)-

The Diamond Exchange is allowed to set their prices to whatever they want. It's their store after all.

And if people want to base their selling prices off of the DE, so be it.

Now if collecting sand is really that easy, than maybe you should do it yourself and earn some credits while you're at it.

I am sorry if you are un-happy with the price currently set at the DE. But, if you haven't noticed the DE has been very inactive for the past few months, basically, it's been closed down for a while now. This meaning the prices haven't been updated for months. As soon (if ever) as I get the DE back up and running properly, then I will fix the prices up. But for now, they ain't changing.

Well, I bought wool for 200c a stack at the DE... I wouldn't buy for more than 120.. however, people some how think that 300c is the going rate of wool (on a renewable resource haha). So according to those people its cheap.

But yes, stores normally our more expensive than going to the farm-to-marker (i.e. trade).

DE is like Target. It has prices that are fair, but not really the cheapest around...

Actually, the DE has been closed for months, and is currently undergoing an effort to re-open. No suppliers = massive prices... or not being open at all.

Which we aren't. Were not open. Ever. Yet.

When we are open, the prices will be better, but people who only sell their one item can afford to charge a lot less.

Remember, we only make about 10% from each sale, the DE is a way to combine or the mass wholesalers into one store. But it doesn't work because people don't want to supply us.

Perhaps under the circumstances i should say operating at minimum efficiency. We cant sell anything as much as we would like and therefore we consider ourselves 'closed' although we still sell to people who ask nicely, and generally on a price we both agree on ;)

I think part of the reason people cannot supply you is the ridiculously low prices that you want to pay suppliers to supply you with items that are difficult to acquire.

Eg. Yesterday I was talking to J_P in game about becoming a supplier, and when I asked about what price I could supply you diamonds for, I was told that you bought them for <80cr, wheras I can sell them on my own for a minimum of 120cr/gem, and with the recent price raise I could sell them (if I wanted) for around 160cr/gem.

In my opinion, in order for you to start trading you have to work on improving your prices - I understand you have to make a profit margin, however if I ever have to buy then I will expect to only make a small profit margin, maybe 5-10cr/gem.

I think Jpot is wrong. Our prices are a reasonable 10% expected discount for suppliers (excluding tax).

However, at one point we were buying them from exodus and other suppliers for about 4-5k per stack.
