The rules of this amazing auction:

The winner will recieve 1,000 credits.
However, the second-highest bidder will have to pay his/her bid without getting anything.

So, if the bidding goes:
1: 20
2: 30
3: 50
4: 100

4 will get the 1000 credits and only pay 100, but 3 will have to pay 50 credits and recieve nothing.

Wow the douchebuggery of auctions has stooped to yet another low. Forcing people to pay for air in the hopes it will create a false bidding war between first and second place out of concern that they could end up paying for nothing.
