This is correct. For details, see the New Auction Rules thread. You seem to have followed the format listed there, but missed the part about how the end date can't be discretionary.

With regard to the information up for auction, is the NPC village somehow hidden, such that it couldn't be found on the world map?

I've found the location of one NPC village by simply looking through the server's world map. If it's just a standard NPC village out in the open (and visible from above, where I could find it on the world map without buying information about it), then I won't be placing a bid.

If the village was artificially moved underground, or otherwise made impossible to see from the map, then I might consider placing a bid.

Additional information that would be nice to have: is the realm with the village public, or private?
