no you do not have the right to stop the auction, now you have started the action you have to though with it till the end date.

People post that they have the right to stop it at anytime and no one ever says anything then.

That's exactly what I meant.
As far as I am aware, that is not breaking any rules, also almost everyone does it. Try wording it a bit differently next time, by putting like what I do in all of mine. "End date:xx/xx (may end sooner if bidding dies out)", put something like that to avoid confusion.
