Prices of Diamond.. People be hatin for price of 150

Ok today everyone spazzed on me because I offered to sell diamonds for 150. Someone asked for diamonds, I said "selling diamonds 150/ piece"
In this post I will try to convince you that it is
-a reasonable price for me
-you should mind your own business

When I hear someone ask "anyone selling diamonds", I respond with "150". Its not such a rip off. You don't know what I'm doing, I may be digging or building or mining. I have to teleport to home, grab a diamond, go to trade, haggle with someone, go out of trade, and walk all the way back to my site of operation. So that is why I charge a price of 150. 150 is worth my while, and thats that. Now I will obviously charge a lower price in bulk, but for me to interrupt my stuff and provide you with the convenience of an instant diamond, I *offer you* to trade it for 150 (and that price depends on many things like supply, what I am doing, etc etc). Remember this is just an offer. An intelligent buyer who wants a few diamonds asks for diamonds in chat, and then choses the best offers.

Why do I offer diamonds for 150? Because I want to provide a genuine service to people. Sometimes someone wants to buy a diamond and nobody is selling. In these cases, they can still get a diamond, they will just have to pay higher to get me to deliver it to them then they would from the bulk sellers. It's there choice. Sometimes I am on the other side of the trade myself, sometimes I have been exploring, and I really need diamond for some reason. Its far more convenient for me to trade for it then go back home. So I ask in trade. Sometimes nobody answers, and I don't get my diamond and I'm very sad. At times like this I'd gladly pay even 200/ diamond, just so I can continue to have fun with what I need. This is a perfect example of the times that I offer 150 for a diamond. Its just an offer for a service, for a convenience. If you buy 10 from me I'll sell for much less ofc. But I just throw that offer out there so the buyer has a choice. I'm not going to lower my price for 1 diamond to compete with you. I'm not selling to make a profit, I'm selling to give someone a convenience.

If I were keenly watching chat hoping to make money off diamonds, I'd offer them at a competative rate to try and steal clients from you guys too. But thats not what I'm doing. So stop Hatin!

I want you to understand 150 is the price I'm offering, the buyer has a choice if they want to pay 150 for that trade. I'm not convincing any of you that are selling diamonds for 70 to sell at 150. If it is worth your time to sell for 70 then go for it, I'm not the one yelling at you, you are yelling at me. 150 is just my price for interrupting my time to get you an instant diamond. If you msg me and haggle, i'll gladly go down for bigger orders.

So in conclusion stop whining about my prices. Its nothing but an offer, a helping hand for someone if they need it. If you don't want to have that service for my price, then stop spazzing at me ingame, mind your own business. Just offer at a lower price and be happy about yourself that you are making money selling diamonds. Or whatever you do. Idk what you do cuz its none of my business.

*and I didn't even get into xray'd diamonds saturating the market, and their effect on inflation, because relative to me it doesn't matter

Thanks for reading, I welcome your comments.

I agree totally with the whole "walking" thing, 150 is worth peoples time, people don't get shops are shops for a reason, they try to sell more for less.. he is not a shop.

I'm actually stunned that prices for Diamonds are still so cheap, given their demand and given that x-ray is outlawed. I'm lucky if I get 2 clusters in using up 2 diamond picks and coming out slightly ahead. I've had to fall back to iron tools more than once.

Maybe we should lower the price to 120etc. and maybe I got back if I'm closer. Also because we've got lots(all legit)its more easier to find 'em.

Not even gonna read the other comments; 150 is outrageous lol. Hands down, 90 or less, even 100 is too steep. I sell mine for literally half your price...

By helping hand, do you mean hand slipping into your wallet and pulling out all their money?

Just teasin' :)

Just proves you don't understand why its 150. Your post was a waste of space, just like those rants in chat were (not saying that was you i don't remember who did that). Clearly you don't understand 150 isn't the price of the diamond but the price of an instant service, only being offered.

I want to know how doing /trade and giving a few diamonds then /trade out is so troubling to increase the price.... I am just saying as the once Foxtops co-owner we sold diamonds at 100 and that was HIGH 150 is just wow.

If he is somewhere else and mining, then has to /home to get the diamonds, then /trade, he will be unable to get back to the location he was mining easily. /trade takes no effort only if you constantly carry the goods with you, or are always near your warehouse.

Also, if he is able to successfully sell diamonds for 150, then more power to him.

Not everyone understands supply and demand.

I sold a stack of wood a month ago for 500. If you need something right now, you pay for it. How anyone does not get this is beyond me. If nobody else is offering diamond and the person really wants to make a pick and go mining RIGHT NOW, they can expect to pay. It's so simply it simply amazes me that anyone cannot understand it.

Btw, not everyone walks around with a stack of diamonds in their inventory. For those of us that die to suffocation 50% of the time we use /trade.... its not a trivial thing.

I'm perfectly fine with people selling diamonds for a significant amount more than the standard price; it means I can undercut them and still make even more than usual...except that I usually don't trade diamonds.
