The Grammar Thread

This is a (somewhat) small question, but is anyone else bothered by poor grammar? I am not asking for perfect syntax everywhere, even the typo might evade my judgement (only if it is acceptable, for example, didaster, supplementing for disaster is fine, but disasper is not, figure out why!). What bothers me is the lack of full stops and capitol letters. Here is another example (depicting a ban appeal):

i dont know whu i was band but i will nevr do it again so i can come bakc onto the server and play with eecrap, onepick nd others becuade it is a my favoururite server and want to stay ith the people on the server and rant and rant and rant adn rant and rant(...)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :( :( :(        :P  :| :o

Please people (who have bad grammer you know who you are) make an effort to improve, it make a huge difference not only yo yourself but to how others interpret you. This is not a thread to make you fell substandard to everyone else, just my opinion, that you should take with you forever, that is highly advised, that will make the world a better place.

If you find a mistake I made and want to put me to shame, go ahead, I welcome it!

I'm not bothered by poor spelling or minor grammatical issues, but serious grammar problems or lacks of punctuation annoy me, since it makes the writing really hard on the eyes (in addition to making it harder to understand).

I agree. Bad grammar bothers me, although in moderation by n00bs, it's hilarious. There should be exceptions for people who don't speak English well, like MrKeveCool. He's Swedish (I think) and people are constantly complaining about his grammar and spelling. (When you say grammar in this case, I assume you mean spelling as well.) He's gotten better, however. You just have to give people a chance.

p.s. Try to find errors in my spelling and/or grammar, n00bs. I can practically guarantee that you won't.

This is an all age server and as such you will have children that have completed very little formal education playing here and possibly later posting here on these forums. You can't force proper grammar on those that haven't even learned it yet.

I find a lot of them say 'ye' for yes. I don't know if that's yes in a different language, but it bugs the crap out of me. Seriously, yes is such a simple word! Sell it all out!

In fact, in old english, ye is a pronoun! smh

I use Ye sometimes in short for Yes, or Yeah, because I actually say it like "Yeh" irl.
