This is a poll on wither blackmail should be either looked down upon as a form of harassment or just get a blind eye turned both here on minerelam.com and in-game on its servers. Please keep all comments mature and serious to the topic.

I can see how it can be used as a good thing, but I find it used way to many times in very dirty ways.

It's only blackmail if you've done something wrong and it only works if the blackmailer is beyond reproach while having solid evidence against the blackmailed that he's willing to use. In any normal situation, the blackmailed would get punished due to his transgressions and, if the blackmailed has evidence that someone was trying to blackmail him, the blackmailer is also punished as a participant to the wrongdoing for trying to profit by it rather than turn him in.

Long story short, it's only blackmail if both parties have evidence against the other. It's mutually assured destruction really.

Kind of sad that people have gotten to the point where black mailing each other with the threat of ban requests has even entered their minds.

I would actually say it is directly related to your ban request.

Blackmail is very controversial. This is what I have to say.

I think it's mostly a bad thing. Don't blackmail. And don't get into a position of being blackmailed. Don't be stupid, don't cheat. And if you do cheat, don't let anyone know about it.

I don't think it's harassment if it remains entirely in a game. You can always simply leave minerealm and forget about the whole thing where in real life you're ultimately stuck with either spending a fortune, or going to jail or public awareness of what you did.
