[SUGGESTION] Multiple worlds

Posting this on a thread of its own so it doesn't just get buried and left to rot in the map poll thread.
Basic outline of the idea:
-Main survival map stays as-is and keeps the same system.
-Several smaller (maybe around 4k by 4k?) maps are accessible, each has its own different systems.
-Side worlds are generated with their own new world seeds, making thinks like jungle biomes available.
-Travel between worlds limited, such as only once per day. Alternatively, travel to side worlds may cost credits. (Returning to the main map would be free to prevent players getting trapped.)
My idea is there are three unique side worlds, as follows:
Exclusive world: Moderate sized map, mostly vanilla, no plots, only accessible to donors, staff, and veterans to prevent griefing.
PVP world: Small map, full PVP, no protection. Complete free-for-all for the PVP fans.
Update world: Moderate sized map, wipes every major update (or whenever it gets excessively mangled). For fresh wilderness and availability of new items.
Pros:
+ Revitalizes the server without wiping the map or starting a new one.
+ Makes items from recent and future updates available.
+ Satisfies PVP needs.
Cons:
-I'm not extremely familiar with running a server, but extra worlds may put more load on it, potentially causing lag during peak hours.
-DON'T USE THE WORD CHOCOLATEY, DON'T DO IT, I'M WARNING YOU, DON'T SAY THAT WORD.
I'm not at all claiming that this is the best idea or easy to implement, just throwing it out there as a possibility. Keep your criticism constructive.
