Recently I purchased a realm near spawn( the old store). I have wanted to do something with this realm, but was continuously accused of looting every time I went to explore the realm. Its been awhile since I purchased it, and I'm interested on doing something with it, but I'm not 100% on the rules of tearing down previously owned structures( I have read the rules thread in the bans section) and just want to get a little clarification.


The building currently has a lot of glass and solid stone in the actual structure. If I used an ordinary pickaxe to break the blocks then it breaks/becomes cobblestone. I was wondering to what extent do I have to preserve all the blocks. Is it alright to put the cobblestone in chests(in case the original owner comes on) or do I have to smelt it back into solid stone/use silk touch. Do I need to use silk touch for glass, or replace any glass that gets broken? Also glow stone. Would I have to use silk touch for that as well since chances of getting enough dust to remake the block are slim to none?

Any help is appreciated.

I would like to know as well. I purchased a realm next to mine that has a structure I've been planning to deconstruct. I've had a sign posted for a month to contact me and have heard nothing back. I'm operating under the assumption that since nobody has responded then I can claim Eminent Domain on the structure and its' materials.

Waiting time is 14 days after purchase of a disbanded realm, after that you can have your go.

I think the waiting time is 14 days here as well, don't quote me on that though.
1 month is enough time for sure, I wouldn't worry.

All things considered, if you purchase a realm that has Glowstone on it, you would be deemed "insane" by server status to NOT use a silk touch on ANY piece of glowstone. Especially considering that a single stack sells for 18k. SO! You don't HAVE to use a silk touch on the GS, but then again you don't HAVE to breath air, eat food or drink water.....it's just recommended

Just to confirm the rules:
To tear down ANY structure on the server, you must have owned the realm the structure sits on for 14 days before hand. this is to give the previous owner two weeks to claim their items. once those two weeks have passed you can do whatever the heck you want with the items/blocks. so the pair of you, you can remove the structures assuming Teh, that you've owned the realm for more than 14 days

I purchased the realm right next to this. You can tear it down but all the materials HAVE to stay in chests on the realm for 14 days after the purchase.

Just for gathering from the information in the previous posts. I CAN tear it down as long as all mats go into chests, and after 14 days of purchase, I can do whatever I want with whatever is on the realm I purchased without being banned for looting/stealing?

a small correction, though you may have said this in a round about way, all blocks must be available for collection by the previous owner for 14 days after purchase, including the purchase day. it doesn't matter if they're in chests or the structure has been left standing. after those 14 days, its all yours, no exceptions

Easy answer i was given by shamp... Purchase the realm, wait 2 weeks, if you hear nothing from the previous owner, anything and everything on the realm is yours for the taking
