Regarding The new Factions

It seems that their has been.....A good amount of new Factions poping up. If this keeps going the way it is, Minerealm will become more of a "Self Reliant" Friendly server instead of a fun server where friends can have days of fun playing and building on realms. If you're a Pvp faction, Try to keep it between you and friends. If you're a building faction, try not to consume the whole map under one name. Perhaps a friendly merger or something of that nature could take place instead of 1 faction turning into 15 different sectors recruiting any noob they can find...I know i'm not the only one tat stands behind this only because with under-advertising, Veteran players and people who just plain don't know the system, The good 'ol minerealm will cease to be.

Yes, there have been a lot Of factions popping up. No offense though, But this is very shallow minded. Some of us would rather keep the pride of saying 'we are a people', and living In relationship with each other. We don't recruit every last noob we can find, But spare the best For talented players.
I understand that there are a lot Of factions consuming MineRealm, But who can't like Being an individual In a plot of people like him/ her, and express their uniquity through their loves and talents?

Hmm.

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. I'l keep this in mind for sure.

EDIT: Hmm.. trying to decide if I should remove the Arcane signature. It's kind of pointless really. I'd like to be known as Agentred, a player, rather then as a member of some faction. Hmm...

Oh, yeah...

I really don't know what Orion is doing, but I know I see a lot of other factions recruit a LOT of people. And that's where I think these factions fail.

A faction needs to be a bunch of bros, friends, not people randomly bunched into a faction. When you hear the name of the faction, you've got to think of the members, and the other way around as well.

I think Arcane does this pretty well. We don't accept just anyone. That's the downside of other factions, imo - There are so many people in one faction you look at it and think, 'Oh, that's guy is in ____ also...'

With Arcane, it's a big deal to be accepted. I took this idea from NTC... They are what inspired me to create Arcane, to be honest. NTC started as three friends and slowly grew to about 10. Whenever you heard 'beast' or 'shockwave' or 'pharazon' you thought, NTC. I also respected how there was no real leader. They all had equal status in the faction.

Another flaw in a lot of factions... There has to be something unique to it. I think Arcane does this pretty well. Our goal is to encourage PvP, and to have the server be a better place then before we existed. I do realize now maybe we need to change up a few things, though.

Anyhow, good thread Cj, I do hope is stops all the silliness going around with a lot of the factions. :)

Another edit! Anyhow, this is more important. A suggestion...

Factions should be like spawn points. You should have to apply them to Intelli. Factions need to be impressive and well thought, with real effort put in to them. Otherwise, just anyone can throw together a faction in a day. I think we need a thread where factions will officially become recognized by Intelli. It'd be good fun and would get rid of all the surplus factions, imo.

Fun fact: Arcane was planned out for about three weeks from the three founders. It wasn't just thrown together! :)

I absolutely agree with Agent. Factions are something more than a bunch of players slapped together, but a group of people whos relationship is something important. We have only officially recruited one player, we have a few friends here and there, onemanwo1fpac, thunderkitty, hangnhi. These are just a few of our great players. (even though I'm sure nobody has heard of them)
A true faction should be something of meaning, not a competition. When a bunch of groups decide to pop up and compete with one another to see who makes it higher on the charts, they are not truly living in the spirit of community. When a few good builders make a relationship with one another and share their talents, they can be recognized as a group.
Finally, regarding my own 'faction', Orion. I'm sure I made a mistake announcing it when I did, although that was not our official opening. We are a part of Nordica, a city; not an aspiring empire. Although nobody know my plans for the group yet, I will assure you it will be something of a unique, individual kind. So far, at least a month of planning and building has gone into Orion, and still much more to come.

I have a high respect for Arcane as a new faction. You guys seem to be one of the few factions following/creating a new generation of NTC type PvP. While some of these other PvP factions seem to be put together in a heartbeat...

This is what I mean. A faction; a group of people who know who they are, and are defined as individuals.
Props to Arcane for being an example of what a faction Should be.
And on a side note- diesel, didn't you join meadowfall recently? Not said in any discrimination, im sure we all need people to fall back in every now and again, right.

I left Meadowfall. It was comprised of inactive and generally annoying members.

No block. You were kicked out for being un-useful.
