Realm not owned but "Reserved"

I was building on a realm that was public. I was asked by another user to get off because it ruined his neighborhood. Fair enough I don't think too much into it. The question rose to me that what is a realm you can build on that isn't 3000,3000 blocks from spawn. There are some closer realms to spawn that have some human contact but are still public. I have bought some and in process to buy another realm today but i has some greifed buildings or dilapidated ones. The realm has like some warehouse chests with nothing in them and broken window panes ect. If i purchase this realm its one near silverknightm I don't want him coming to me again with another staff member qq ing about how its his realms but he didn't have the credits. I don't dislike silver but is seemed a bit absurd that after I placed a cobblestone wall he gets a staff member to come look at his realms and where mine was placed and then say he had a sigh on there saying he reserved it. It was public when i bought it but maybe 2 chests full of wood tools and junk (to me). Before i get into this server and buy many realms that are near others (Not ocean biome) I'm not going to be slapped and forced to sell or get banned am I? I just wasn't to buy public realms and mine. Not too interested in mega builds. If there are some more specific rules and regulations I could read other than the sticky i would be very interested. Any response on this from any mod admin or someone of more knowledge would be appreciated.

he shouldn't be able to kick you out, but you have to give an equal amount of materials to what is in the building
edit: since silver is an active member, if he had sighns, you cant

If a realm is clearly marked (with signs etc.) that it's reserved by someone, I don't think that you're allowed to build on it or purchase it.

If it's near, or as near to Spawn City as you can get, and it's public you can buy it unless there is a sign on it from an active player with their name on it. Then yes it's reserved and buying it anyways would be considered harassment. If there is no sign and it's near Spawn city then let them cry. It's fair game.

The same goes for realms way out in the far lands that are purchased right next to other owned realms or projects. That far out you'd want to buy up land away from others as buying close to them may interfere with their projects. It is also considered harassment.

This. It's a free market - first come first serve.
There, Intelli himself said you can't reserve

Well let's say I'm making a mega build, spending 8 realms, but I don't have 80k to buy all the realms yet, but I've flattened them all and they are obviously marked by me.

Can someone buy one of the realms and build a giant cobblestone castle on it because it's public?

If that unsourced quote from lizard is accurate, then I would say that yes they could. I believe the prevailing understanding is that they are still required to return to you the materials used in construction or their equivalent replacements which could be quite a task for them if they don't happen to have huge stores of cobble and dirt lying around. And besides, flat terrain is boring anyway.

If they are only doing it to be a jerk, they can be banned, if they are acculey using it, then according to Intelli its okay
