Realm Theft?

I have a question about claiming items.
What if a person was banned and they were gone for over a month, but there realm still was not disbanded, then when it did disband a person comes and buys it out of nowhere and steals everything. Also, what if the person that stole everything sold it to the people whose friend owned it before. doesnt the person then have to give back all he stole to the people he sold it to in the end?

This is seemingly another one of those grey areas. The people are obligated to returning your items, but there have been situations in the past where the player never was returned the items, because the staff tends to pay little to no attention to these cases from what I've seen.

If you can somehow demonstrate that it was your stuff being stored, I'd say the buyer is obliged to return it. They're free to keep anything that was the OWNER'S, however.

well it was Physaux's realm and he gave us everything that was in the chests and too prove it you can ask leafwarrior254 because it was mostly his and only partially mine. To show we know what was in them i dont know how we could because they were all individually labeled.

I have a similar question. If you find a disbanded realm, are you allowed to take things from chests? I found a realm obviously ages old, that had disbanded recently. Can I take the items?

If you purchase the realm, and "/online <previous owners name>" to make sure the owner hasn't been online since 2 weeks after the realm disbanded. I believe under the right circumstances you can sell the realm afterwards anyways.

There's one thing about this that I don't like, and I'm sure you folks will agree. Realm owners may be logged out for thirty (30) days before their realm goes public. After those 30 days, that's it, your realm is public. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO KEEP YOUR REALM IS SIMPLY LOGIN. EVEN IF YOU ARE BANNED, YOU CAN STILL LOGIN TO KEEP IT ACTIVE. That is ALL you need to do. Now, if you remember, we had (or have) the 14 days after going public rule, which is the thing I don't like.

Technically speaking, the realm owner really has 44 days to login and keep their realm. Technically, nobody else is supposed to touch the realm until 14 days have passed AFTER the realm has gone public. After that, anything goes. You can take the realm and do whatever you want with it. Now I don't know if we still use this 14 day rule or not, I honestly think it's unnecessary simply because you have 30 days to login to keep your realm. I think that is way more than enough time to take 3 minutes and login.

What I think should happen, in a case where there are multiple members of the realm, the ownership should be moved to the 2nd person added to the realm. Or maybe we could have multiple owners (up to 2, mayyyybe 3) This way realms are kept with the active members, rather than the inactive owner.

EDIT: As for realms that were NEVER private, the 14 day rule does apply. In this case you would have a staff member check the contents of the realm, to see if anyone has touched it, or if any names are associated with the land. Then you would use /online playername to see if they have logged in in the past 14 days. If not, the stuff is all yours.

tl;dr If you find a realm that just went public, and you buy it, it should be yours to keep (THIS IS MY OPINION, BRO)

Three minutes? Try fifteen seconds. It's absurdly simple to keep your realms from going public, even if you don't have time to actually play Minecraft for any substantial amount of time.
