At the moment, theres no reason to keep the temp server. people that were previously banned are coming in and destroying it, the map is comepletely is destroyed once more. Just remove the map and wait for the normal server.

Or Intelli could just take the server down while we wait for the real one to come back. This is a privilege to have this temporary map. He could have just not bothered to do that and make everyone wait.

It's not the walls that's the problem. It's them darn grievers!!

Wipe it and make it a donor/mod/admin access only if that's not too much trouble.

might increase the donor base
and speaking of...

we need to get serious about thinking of ways to increase the donor base

i know a lot of players are kids/college students so not a lot of ready cash/disposable cash but
a minimum of over 600 different accounts logged in within the 48 hours of the snowball fight
if even half of those players, round it down to 300, donated $5 each that would be $1500 that could be enough (depending on how much of a cut paypal takes) to fully fund the server for 4 months (based on the $374 Intelli mentioned it will cost now with the new server)
so..
anyone know how much paypal takes?
and..
anyone have any suggestions on how to get more players to donate even small (untaggable) amounts so that we can spread the cost?

when the regular map is up how do people feel about selling/raffling/auctioning in games items (not spawned, player made and donated) for real money?

any other ideas?

I personally don't like the idea of donors getting special in game privileges. (ya I know I said something about smoking feet, which I did love, but really that shouldn't be for donors that was for the anniversary) but may be there is something we can do to make it an incentive?

as the server grows..love seeing jdankk's banner on mcserverlist by the way...player limit might become an issue..maybe donors can have "reserved spots" or "first choice" or something like that?

just ideas..feel free to shoot them down but hopefully replace them with better ones :)

What about microtransactions? Pay money for items?

Then we would be a moca cappuccino server, not the barely vanilla we voted on

But i think we should delete the temp map and replace it with a creative map. we really wernt getting anywhere in that tiny area with so many people, that dirt, wood and most everything became the new glowstone, and when the basic building blocks become as rare as glowstone, all progress grinds to a halt.
