Load up a single player game, then go onto the multiplayer server. Should work.

I didn't want to post another thread so I'll say it here.
Anyone getting really bad lag? I'm getting like 10 to 30 second lag. I think the lag is mostly downstream. I can type something on chat and it might take a minute for it to actually show up. I sure hope this isn't a problem on our new host's end.

Load a world in single player, go to main menu, join and no black screen.

I can confirm that turning off the monitor consistently causes black screens.
