I know griefing in nether is not allowed. So why is my tunnel system totally destroyed after 2 weeks?
I don't care if people remove 1 or 2 blocks accidently, or connect their own tunnels, but please don't do the following things:

• Destroying portals: I place them exactly so that you can link your own portal without destroying it
• Holes in the ground!!!
• Lava in tunnels
• Walls
• removing signs

There was a sign on every portal saying "Griefing is not allowed in nether!".

What can i do to prevent griefing in the future? Ask a mod to ban them? - How many players were banned for griefing in the nether (except spawn portal)?

Several have been banned in the past, but the griefing had to be obviously dilliberate.

I've run into this problem several times over the last few days, but unfortunately there were no mods available and it was simply faster to fix it and move on. That said, next time I see this I'll be asking for a mod.

In the case of a destroyed portal, just assume they were trying to redirect another portal. Portal destruction is almost never straight up griefing, it is normally an attempt to have their own portal come out in the right place.

Only real solution to fixing the griefing on the road and portals is to get Intelli to protect it all.
Of course it is more work to protect just the road without going from sky to bedrock but in the interest of all it should be done anyways.

Portals not in the main spawn portals shouldnt be protected as such.
