I have casually noticed several threads recently that have addressed the realms around spawn. Being someone who has found an ill taste in my mouth when walking around spawn city, I would normally agree that something should be done about this; however, the direct approach of "change it or we'll petition Intelli to wipe/auction it off" seems to be not only rude but down right childish. I LOVE this server, and all of those within it, but let us not turn into a ravenous pack worse than our governments. I know that the US is the most notable to use this term, Eminent Domain, but they certainly are not the only ones. Currently in China, for example, there is a fishing village with a population of approximately 10,000 people who are fighting the government over the use of this power. So, I pose to you, why are we attempting to employ these same measures? Sure, there are hazards to letting people dig holes 50 x 50 all the way to bedrock and not putting up some sign or fence, but these massive eyesores might inspire a new player to build wonders that would dwarf the ugliness of this gaping maw. So I put to you, oh wonderful server-mates of mine, let us rise above those who deem fit to rule the world. Give in to the proposed anarchy that is a utopian minerealm....live with each other, not against one another.

Edit: Eminent Domain - The use of governmental force to take right or property from an individual with compensation, but without the owners consent.

A few things. First off, this is not eminent domain. In ED, the owner is compensated. I am pretty sure that Intelli is not going to pay people for these realms, he is just going to seize them. That would be more like "Nationalization", although that does not quite fit either. Also, as far as I am aware no one has actually had their realms seized yet so I am failing to see the concern.

Because they work? China might have one tiny little village in revolt, but considering their population is something like 1.4 billion people, 10,000 barley even register.

You are treating this like it is the real world and trying to apply rules and theories that simply do not translate into the digital world.

Are you advocating against the current administration? Did you just admit to being a filthy rebel? I can only hope that the MR secret police ambush and drag you off to some cozy little torture pit before your terribly incorrect ideas lead any who are weak of mind down your twisted path.

While it could be more eloquently stated, this is not a statement in opposition to the Minerealm Administration. It appears to be a reference and comparison to the governments previously mentioned.

You don't need to understand, merely know that he is a provocateur and should be disposed of with all haste.

I sense a disturbance in the Friendship... and it is coming from your idea of rebellion!

This, this, "rebellion" of yours will only threaten the peace and security that we have strived for all these months! Do you want to tear this server apart? Would you be willing to face every man, woman, and child and tell them, face to face, that thier very ability to play on Minerealm might be lost to them should they choose to fight?

Now, I'm not saying there is a MR secret police, and I'm not saying there isn't... but if there is, I control much of a desert and would be happy to donate some cactus to the cause of law and order.
