So earlier I came on, did some EXP grinding and decided to enchant my diamond pick at level 20 (I got Efficiency II and Fortune I). I then logged off and log back on just a few minutes ago to find that my diamond pick was now just a plain old one, I also didn't receive any EXP back.

Anyone know why this happened? and if it is a server based or client based bug?

When you log off, your items go back to normal.

Seriously?!

Because when we were waiting for MR to go 1.0, we were playing on Mitchie's private server. On that when you logged out the enchanted stuff stayed the same.

Maybe it's a bug or something idk, but yes seriously.

Apparently, the same thing happens if you drop the enchanted item. This means that you can't recover the enchantment if you die while carrying it, and perhaps even worse, you can't buy/sell/trade enchanted items with other players. Quite certain it's a bug, since enchantments are retained after relogging in single player.

This is so annoying. At least it will force me to save up my XP.

If you have enchanted items put them in a chest before you log out and they will not lose their enchantment I gave full iron armour enchanted to lvl 4 and diamond sword enchanted to 5 or 6 I lost my first enchantment on sword but now I store everything in chest before I log out

It had better. I'm still extremely pissed about my exp not being restored after dying in the minerealm anniversary. And the smoky effect is gone as well, so I have nothing to show for it ='(

Put enchanted items in chests before logging off. They can be traded through chests I guess, though not at/trade as the only chest is available for all.
