This is the equivalent of
http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3005
After being stuck in the ground many times after /home I now placed my /home 2 blocks above ground. Now it happens that I regularly teleport into stone below my /home where I suffocate - or even worse into lava, were I burn and my inventory is eternally lost. This is particularly frustrating after mining :-\. I had the same problem after placing home on a chest. Not sure if it also happens on ground, but there I definitely have the stuck in ground bug.
Does anybody have this problem, too? Any solution in sight?
Thx!!!

Try setting it higher. Falling out of the sky is better than burning.

I've had the issue where you begin falling before the map fully renders. As a result, you get stuck in either your floor or in the ground below the floor, and begin to suffocate--if you're close enough to the surface, logging out and back in after a few minutes can occasionally save you by teleporting you to the proper location. Otherwise you suffocate in rock

My /home is 6 blocks above the ground, still fall through the world, the chunks don't even load and kill me, screen just derps out until I relog.

I have had the same problem, i found if you quickly disconnect, then reconnect you will be fine.

The same thing happens to me. Whenever I do a /home there is a 95% chance that the chunk will simply fail to load while all others around me load fine. The other 5% is that the chunk will load, but only after I fall a specific distance and become embedded in stone. Fortunately it has happened to me enough that I have hollowed out a small anti-suffocation chamber under my realm that I inevitably appear in.
Of course, I now immediately relog to fix it, so it's not as stressful as it used to be.

Any technical information on why this happens? Intelli?
Why does one "fall" in the first place, is that how minecraft does it? Is it necessary? Should we ask notch to change that?
Actually I even had that falling and suffocating or spawning at a higher floor on a vanilla mc server sometimes.
