Hey everyone,

As many of you are aware, 1.9 brings in huge oceans. And by huge, I mean 10,000 x 10,000 or larger.
These oceans quickly get tiring, and result in a lot of useless unused area.

What I would like to propose is converting all oceans to land (automatically, when the map generates). I've developed a method, which although it isn't perfect, will turn the oceans into land area.

Let me know what you guys think.

As much as I love living at the waters edge, I don't support huge oceans...

What sort of land will be created? Just dirt? Mountains? Resources?
Will there be small lakes still?

This is a good idea, but I say keep some (if this is possible)...

So long as this results in realistic terrain it has my vote. Flat plains of mixed/layered blocks would be worse than oceans though.

EDIT - This would be better if it was only done within the current map borders.

Whilst I think that Oceans are too large, converting them all to land should not happen because then we have no oceans at all.

Also what will happen to rivers flowing into oceans?

I know we are going to be an island..... and i kinda like that. Im not going to vote yes, because i dont mind too much. I would rather everyone else decide.

I agree with mitchie, I think it will be kinda cool to have Abyssus as its own island.

I think just leave them as they are and let people deal with them themselves. I also don't like the idea of having no oceans at all.

I'm sure someone will make an underwater city at some point.

Voted yes. Kill em all. With the amount of realms getting imported not doing so would mean a lot of ugly islands.

Question though is there a way to only kill the oceans within a 12000 x 12000 area?
