Hey All

I got this next problem, and i see more people have the same problem.
Lately i have a problem with mining. I need to mine blocks like 5 time, before they actually get mined.
When i want to loot something, i need to wait like 5-10 seconds before it gets looted.
Now i had this problem a week ago, but its getting worser each day.

I spoke to a mod, he said its my connection. Well im playing World of Warcraft on Ultra Settings without a single lag. I stream HD movies of playing League of Legends without lag. So no it's not my connection.

The only thing i can think of is. i life in The Netherlands and server is on Canada. Might couse the problem , i dont know.

Anyways, anyone got a solution to this? Becouse its not rly usefull anymore to mine with a Diamond Pickaxe becouse of this.

What do you mean by "loot"?

If you have no problems with chests, then it is probably just block lag.

If you have problems with chests and blocks, it is probably your connection. I did many searches on "does location of server affect speed" and most of what I read says that location usually does NOT affect speed.

I got the same and they've also told me it's my connection. But just like you, I can do anything, absolutely anything without lag. Even other minecraft servers work without lag.

When there's over 100 people on the server just can't keep up, nothing you can do about it.

Was this a recent development? If so, http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3483 might give some insight.

Does this lag occur when the server is busy (+100 players), or is it all the time?

At the speed of light, the packets will take about 25 ms to travel to The Netherlands. Realistically, due to slow switchers/routers, I would Imagine your pings to be around 200-400ms, depending on internet traffic.

If it happens constantly, regardless of how many players there are online, and if it bugs you so much that you can't play, I'd suggest finding another local server.

Ping should be <200ms from the Netherlands, assuming his connection doesn't suck.

Surely if it is because you live in the netherlands, then i would have worse lag as i live in Australia.

He is from the Netherlands, and has a Toke'mon avatar. I'm pretty sure this might have something to do with his typing skill, if you get my drift.

The conjugation of the dutch equivalent for that word is erg->erger, so he made worse->worser.
How many languages do you type fluently?

To loot is a common term in gaming, meaning to pick up item that have been dropped.

Ontopic:
Test your connection at speedtest.net when its happening, some providers in the Netherlands limit your bandwith when there's heavy trafic.
Also, I've seen the block lag happening to me but with one specific block, when there's nothing wrong with my connection.

I usually ignore it and mine around and get back to it later.
Oh and i'm from Belgium, so I don't think the distance is what's causing this.
