I've been doing well, thank you for asking. I know I posted a nearly identical post to this a while ago, but what else has changed? I very well may start playing quite a bit more with the 1.9 wipe. I feel like, if I went back, I'd be so confused that I'd never get far. What should I know aboot Minerealm's recent happenings in the past month or so?

Btw, it has come to my attention that Minerealm is turning a year old in about a month. Good on you, Intelli.

You know that if you use the forums and read the posts , that you do get to know what is happening?

I think he already knows. He probably just wants to know about some of the stuff he has not been around to see and probably to see what the people on here are like now. Many of the old time minerealmian people have left leaving many new peoples.

That is true. The strong and the wise are very much respected especially by me. I meant no harm when saying many of the old minerealmian people have left. Mastertegm joined in December of 2010 so he probably hasn't met many of the new people. I'm somewhat new. Just trying to be a good fella.

Major events, in no particular order:

One admin left the server.

Several other moderators are no longer mods, but are still around as players.

Several new moderators have been instated.

A number of high-profile players have been banned for various reasons. Several were unbanned after a pretty long time, others have ban appeals submitted and pending review by mods/admins.

Terra Nova is one of the highest-profile alliances, Celestis is also pretty big, Foxtopia disbanded but is being re-established as Trinity, and Frogtown is being abandoned with New Frogtown being built in a new location.

Intelli started using a script to catch x-ray hackers. The script caught a ton of people who used those hacks to get diamond; this restored some normalcy to the economy (diamond prices were down to around 40 each, but jumped back up to ~100 very soon after the script was used). More recently, the same (or similar) script was used to check for people who hacked to get gold, but this version had a number of false positives (i.e. innocent people being banned); most of those problems have been fixed.

Number of players has been very high since the 1.8 update.

We're getting ready for the 1.9 update, at which point we will wipe the map (to regenerate it with 1.8/1.9 features) but keep all private realms intact. The new map will have greatly increased size ("virtually infinite" according to Intelli).

Additional spawn points are being added. Owners of large cities far away from spawn can apply to have a new spawn point in their territory.

Construction has begun for a large underground railway system, which will be used for transport between the various spawn points and to other high-profile realms. Construction through public realms is on hold until the map wipe happens.
