So I have like 6 chests in my private realm. I checked and I'm the only player who has building privileges. So one minerealm day I go up to one of the chests that should have all the rare materials, and my coal, gold ore, iron ore, diamond picks, and diamond sword are all gone!!

At first I was storing everything in a private realm 2 plots away. It wasn't my realm, but the owner offered me storage. I trusted them and it seemed to work out okay because it didn't appear anything was stolen. Once I bought the plot I was working on, I transferred everything over. And by my recollection I successfully transferred those rare materials. Than, after a few hours or so, they disappeared! There were a few people passing by the chests (I assume checking if they can steal anything).

I don't know how anyone could get in them if they're in my private realm. It makes no sense. I've been on this server for only about a week, so am I wrong? CAN they get in my chests? Are they somehow cheating, getting passed the game and getting in my chests? Is the server buggy? It doesn't seem likely as it was only the rare materials that went missing. Could a mod or admin have accessed my chests?

There is also a neighbor who gets on my nerves. He came by when the realm was still public and stole from my chests. I eventually caught up with him and took it all back. He comes around every so often seeing what I'm doing.

Can a password be put on a chest? Can a mod or admin possibly see who's been peeking in my chests?

Is the neighbor's home built on your realm? if so, and you placed the chest that was stolen from before you bought it, it might be possible that they could have gotten into it. I heard that chests that were accessible before the realm was private are still publicly accessible even if the realm they're in becomes private. That might be the case.

Also, Are the chests on the boarder of the realm, because if they are then they wont be protected.

Based on the other thread you made, I'm assuming these chests were placed BEFORE you purchased the realm.

That doesn't matter.

I'm guessing that it is the realm overlap glitch.

An example would be Panther17nfl's arena. The blocks in the middle can be destoyed by players without rights along a certain line.

Incorrect. That was patched about a month ago.

Okay, at first I was storing everything in chests wide open for anyone to steal. I placed a sign next to them specifically saying not to take. Unfortunately, that seemed to attract more than it repels. I lost everything stored in those couple chests (only cobble, sand and dirt). Than, I tried to hide the chests, putting blocks over them to hide their visibly. Unfortunately, I'm not a magician. A new player, it seems, a couple realms away, decided to check out what I was doing. omg! I can't believe it! He stole! He stole even though it plainly appears that I'm attempting to hide my stuff (i.e. it's mine and not yours!)! After a few minutes of screaming my head off on chat, a kind lad, biocheeze, offered his help. I moved everything over to his private realm feeling safer than ever. Once I had enough rc, I bought my realm and moved everything over there. MIND YOU: AFTER I bought it.

I think it could be a possibility that I was robbed at biocheeze's place or that I had trouble transferring things over.. But it doesn't seem so. I honestly think I'm going crazy. But it doesn't really matter now. I found a better, renewable fuel, charcoal. And someone came by giving me some iron. I don't like missing my gold and diamond though. Oh well, it's only a video game. Hopefully there's no major flaw or bug on the server. And I sure hope that those grievers are not widening their stealing ways to the real world.

Also, I did put the chests along the border of my realm. BUT they are in my realm. The border line separates my private realm and another user's private realm (I think they are banned or otherwise not returning). So, if that glitch is still present, that's likely why my rares went missing. I asked someone to see if they could get in my chests. They couldn't. So, I'm thinking that the glitch only works sometimes or that there is no glitch and my rares disappeared another way.

Regardless of whether they are in your private realm or not, it might be a good idea to still hide your chests. At least within some kind of structure so that they are not openly visible to the public. While I can't say 100% that your chests will be safe, I can say that it does lessen the attraction of by-passing grievers who just happen to right-click on your openly visible chests. Just try hiding them inside of your building or whatever and see what happens from there.

Don't place chests on the border of your realm, as I'm pretty sure that still makes them public, until I verify that's fixed.
