This was a community back in the creative days. Anyone interested in rebuilding anew?

Could we get some explanation as to the specifics of Soviet Underground?

There were no hard defined rules but in general it was a small community of people who worked together to further the group. Things were driven by function more than form. Things were not done to be 'pretty' they were done to be efficient. People had small houses for their personal stuff, not mansions. If you spent time mining and got gold and diamonds you would share them with the others in the community. People would tend the crops, tree farms, etc., always keeping the chests stocked with the essentials. People were always willing to give the new person a diamond tools to get started.

i think i saw a cave for the soviet underground or something like that. i remember something about communism. anyway, it was very helpful. they had a room with chests that you could take what you wanted from, and a mine too. this was before the map reset, in the world with arwic and frogtown

Anyone have an idea of a) How far from spawn is necessary to avoid griefers, and b) How far we are likely to have to go to get into new chunks (and thus new content)

To avoid griefers I would go at least off the cropped map, but I think you may want to go scouting for new chunks.

I think the best thing to do would be send out a few people in different directions, first person to find evidence of new content (Trees probably), we can settle there. Should be far enough away to stop griefers.

I have no intention of joining this, but as a word of advice, you need to travel like at least 3 minecraft days in order to stop greifers.

there is no place thats "ungriefable". for example, even if the place is far, far away, the coordinates can still get out. that happened for utopia and it got griefed, despite it being really far away from spawn D:
