Hey guys!
I have been away for a long while, and wondered, what big things happened? New staff, big bans? New guild, guild collapse? Did the subway get finished? Has LIONCATSs been unbanned? Curious ;3

The server's gone into a quiet state. There are usually only 6-15 players on at a time, a few being afk alts. The mob cap limit was updated, significantly lowering the mobs allowed on a single realm (I think that's what caused lots of the regulars to leave). MineRealm updated to 1.8 a while back. Lioncatss is still banned. Arcane and Aequitas have created amazing redstone shops at spawn. Eah's become a darker shade of purple from eating a puffer fish. Spawn was rebuilt into a nice, grassy, little park. The /border command was implemented (Amazingly useful command. Thanks Intelli!)

No new staff afaik, several have stepped down though.
As for the subway, intelli introduced iron transit tubes and now we are left with a half built subway and a quarter built transit line.
Other than that, yeah servers dead.
Who knows, maybe 1.9 will bring it back. Though with it being a pvp update I can see it bringing the cheesy pvp players back. invis potions and nether camping anyone?

Add new stone types. Wipe the nether. Reset the end. Just do it.

It's been 17 months since the map wipe, time to wipe public again imo with 1.9
Maybe put a ban on Dentez mining, flattening until he actually builds something instead of destroying the map too hey.

Give the players a reason to come back. Wipe the nether and the End, and raise the mob cap limit.

Yeah, I don't see any kind of update fixing MineRealm. Everyone's into modded stuff or mini game servers. I enjoyed my time here while it lasted though. (I'm banned, not like you care though Protex with our history) also it was by choice. I had enough of people's crap and getting away with it. Though sometime in the future I hope to see what it's like again. Don't believe me? Look at your own signature. Is that respectful? Heh, no.

Yeah the server has gone quiet, which is largely due to two main factors.
Firstly, the whole dynamic and player base of minecraft has changed. Many of the people to first register for the game no longer play, or play very infrequently, with myself included. Minecraft as a game has matured and the server base has been saturated, especially with the introduction of minecraft realms. Minerealm has been pushed out of the realm (wordplay intended) of heavy trafficking servers because it didn't have a monster player base to begin with and the rise of more personalised and community orientated servers.
This means that Minerealm has lost a large portion of its original community and since it is a very mature and somewhat inactive server, there is little in the way of attracting and keeping new players. While this is somewhat off point, the only way for Minerealm to gain back a large and active player base is to completely restart, or do some heavy advertising.

Sick of hearing all the theories when the answer is right under our stinkin' noses. Ever heared of Plex? It's a mini game server with just about 28k people on at a time, Maybe even more, I don't remember digits well. Plus, most minecrafters are little kids who think they're all that. And MineRealm is more than "all that" we are not savages. We don't accept bullcrap, (to some degree) cursing (to some degree), harassment (to some degree) and such. I know this is gonna be an odd shift but I don't think this is why eentirely. No I ask of anymore on games or IRL has heared of minerealm, its not well enough advertised. But even that is futile, with everyone claiming intelli advertised last Christmas and even then it was really dead. We are doomed as a community, and changes need to be made.
