Imagine you were fighting a friend at spawn during Mist. You both had good armour and sword, and were doing a battle of skills. THen, both of you died. Before you could respawn and gather your gear, some noob scavenger just takes all your stuff and tp's home because he'd been camping the spawn. Sound fun? no. ANd people will side with the sparring partners, since everyone hates scavengers.
