Concern about claiming land after the Wipe

Once the wipe has been completed, and the server is be back up, I expect that the following will happen:
Players will start exploring and roaming the entire map in search of rare biomes.
Since none of the realms in these biomes will have builds on them etc they can be freely bought/claimed. I have a concern regarding that, which I will illustrate in form of an example:
A player finds a rare biome that is made up of, say, 20 realms. The player desperatly wants the entire biome before anyone else can get the rare blocks within it. However the player can only afford a few realms or maybe even none at all.
So... the player then quickly builds small shabby dirthuts on each of the 20 realms with signs on them claiming ownership of the realms.
Now, nobody else may touch these realms without braking the rules (
http://www.minerealm.com/community/view ... =4&t=14947). The player then have all the time in the world to strip these realms for for anything the player needs, and dont even need to buy the realms...
This seems very unfair to me.
Please comment

Synta brought this up in game too earlier...
I believe that if you find a biome that is rare or cool and you would like to buy the realms they have to be close to your existing realms, this is if you are planning on buying the entire biome...
But if they aren't near your existing realms, you can only claim a maximum of 1 (with signage)

The rare block wars of 2014, a struggle for blocks of podzol, packed ice, and red sand. How many will perish, and who will reign supreme? Too bad these blocks are purely decorative.

I, personally, plan on finding the Mesa biome and buying the entire thing. Not for the rare resources, but simply to keep everyone from griefing the place trying to get the resources...

I could be way off base here, but I don't think putting a dirt hut and sign means the entire realm is untouchable?
It's still public land. If you're mining underground you're not going to know if you're on a "claimed" realm or not if its public. I would think taking a reasonable amount of naturally generated blocks from a "claimed" public realm would be fine, not egregiously stripping the realm and leaving just the dirt hut and sign floating in the middle or something ridiculous like that.
Also, if someone wants that realm, they can still put in an application for it I believe? Then staff would decide who has the more legitimate claim to it?

You make a ton of sense Jen.
I hope your first point is simply true and that it would still be allowed for a player to buy a realm even though it has a hut and a sign by another player claiming ownership.
Your last point... well the player with the ridiculous sign could stil strip the realm before Staff could allow another player ownership thru the application process...
I dunno maybe I am the one far off base here...

Would be nice if we could get some input from staff on this matter. These will be the first completely pristine public realms available after the introduction of the new regulations on applying to buy realms. Combined with the possible great value of some of the new biomes, disputes over the new land could get ugly, but hopefully that could be avoided by having the rules laid out beforehand.

It'll get ugly? Good thing I have warnings all around my home that if you are nearby and acting suspiciously I will warn you, and if ignored kill you unless you can give me a good explanation.
*stares as my huge, flat field*
This will all be mine... so stay off my lawn.

If someone does that, what makes you think the Staff wouldn't allow you to buy it and just hold their items, as it was before? As I understand it, the rules about other people's items on realms you purchase hasn't changed, just the process for purchasing them.
