Imminent Map Changes [READ THIS]

Hey everyone,

A few changes to the map will be made in the upcoming MineRealm release.

1. Public land will be reset to 1.7 terrain.

You can find further information regarding this here: http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopi ... 10&t=14872

2. The current wilderness will no longer be accessible.

Self explanatory. Any valuables from the wilderness should be removed immediately. Access to the wilderness will be restored in a future update, but terrain will be reset.

-

This topic will be updated as necessary, and the details within this post are subject to change up until the date of the next MineRealm update.

Thanks for your support!

So we can probably take this to mean it's time to start tearing down anything we care about?

Guess I'll start pulling down the subway branches I built. I'll rebuild them when someone with more ambition comes up with a postwipe plan.

Since it is 'imminent', is there an estimated date when this will happen?

I know Intelli posted in the other thread that he wasn't planning to release a biome map before the update, but is there any chance that this plan will change? If the staff are uncomfortable with giving too many details about how the map will look, even a simplified / low-resolution / less-detailed version would be much appreciated. e.g. grouping together biomes into groups like on the wiki and showing only the "group" names of snowy/cold/medium/dry/neutral.

They don't want everyone to rush and take all the valuables I'm guessing.

^That's what I was thinking too, which is why I proposed a less detailed version.

For example, if a biome map shows that an area you're interested in is "snowy" it could be the cool-looking new spiky ice plains, or the basically featureless normal ice plain.

Similarly, a "cold" biome could be the very desirable extreme hills biome, or the much less desirable taiga.

A "medium/lush" biome could turn out to be something exciting like a jungle or mushroom island, but it could just as easily be a boring old forest, plain or swamp.

A "dry" biome" has a small chance to turn out to be the new clay-filled mesa, but since those biomes are relatively rare you're more likely to end up with another desert.

Finally, the "neutral" category contains oceans - arguably the least desirable of any biome - but also the desirable hills versions of various other biomes.

My question is, in regards to the book, will this make minerealm 5.0?
