The Kurachi Subway Systems

Preface
The City of Kurachi has for many days been constructing a subway system that runs below sea level. It is designed to connect city to city, making possible the following:
Inter-City Relationships: With this subway, cities may utilize a sort of automated freight that delivers goods to the other town.
Easy Navigation to key points on the server: Cities are never finished with construction, and so this subway connection makes it easy for those willing to work to get from one construction site to the next.
Enhanced connectivity amongst the server: Going from place to place via established and hands-free subway leads to making cities more connected rather than alienated lands that nobody has ever heard of.

Breaking News: The Subway is just Sodding Perfect:
I don't know if I could've said it any prouder. Everyone did a great job establishing the system, now it's just a matter of implementing it on an even larger scale. In the example of Kurachi -> Aquaria, walking time is about 11 minutes if you don't stop. With the subway, your journey is reduced by about 9 minutes down to 2, as well as it being entirely automated. This is doing a great job in linking our cities together and I can't wait to see how much further we can take it.

[Updated Jan 6] Interference With Your Subway Cart:
-Lag on the server may often mess with a smooth and enjoyable experience on the subway systems. If for whatever reason you have exited your vehicle, quickly retrieve it, place it on the nearest track ramp, push, and get it. The boosters will do the rest. If an empty cart is preventing you from travelling, remove the cart, store it in a Cart Bin at any of the city terminals, and continue your travel.

[Updated Jan 6] Current Extent of the Subway System:
-Kurachi is linked to Aquaria in both directions
-Aquaria is linked to Stone Lake City in both directions

[Updated Jan 6] The HoboHouse:
(Currently, this issue only arises with Kurachi)
-The HoboHouse is a complex of cheap housing provided to players unable to purchase housing in any of the cities in the subway system. It is currently located in the general area of Aquaria. Eventually it is encouraged that members of the HoboHouse complex leave and find their creativity in the construction of a house in one of the fine cities in the subway system.

[Updated Jan 6] Subway Construction:
Through the great people of Kurachi, Stone Lake City, and Aquaria all working as one unit to build this massive underground link, I have realized how extensive our manpower has become. It is for this reason that we are now capable of constructing the entire subway tunnel for your city. However, with as many workers as it takes to do this, we will still need your assistance:
-You must provide us with the iron to construct the rails (I can provide you estimates for how much you will need, just make a post on this thread)
-You must provide us with exact coordinates of where you want the terminal. We may be forced to manipulate this location in order to conform to the current subway tunnels' dimensions.
-We will need exactly "Oodles of Wealth" (some sort of payment) in order to build this. Not so much an act of greed, but we legitimately need payment for this. Reasons are as follows:
---We are doing a massive job for you
---The payment received bolsters our cities' economies (more wealth for workers = larger plots and more purchases, etc etc)
---The payment shows your commitment to the subway. Anybody could ask us to just build them a subway and have it end up going to know use. This proves that the subway is truly wanted by your city and its people

--------------------------------------------

Here are the Guidelines:
-Subway tunnels by default should be 7x4 (4 being the height, 7 width).
-Columns aren't necessary, but they do add a great touch to the tunnel.
-Outbound subway carts should be placed on the right of the middle columns, while inbound subways should be on the left.

City Responsibilities [Updated]:
-If you agree to the subway construction, you are agreeing to allow every other city in the subway system to be connected to your city. We're sorry, it's just the way it is.
-If the subway ever gets griefed, it is every city's responsibility to see to it that the damage is repaired. 1 missing track and an entire subway line is destroyed. Any failure of maintenance on your part may result in a disconnection of the subway to your city.
-We cannot lay down the tracks for you. Either you provide us with the materials to do so or you lay them down yourselves. If you have trouble laying to tracks to fit the guidelines, let us know.

How to get your City Involved:
I can't see a reason why not to participate in this out-of-the-ordinary experiment. With all cities connected, we really will be a world and not just a scatter of cities.

If you want to partake in this subway system, a few things need to be present:
-You have to recognize yourself as a city on the Community Thread (sorry, your awesome house or monster tree cannot receive a subway connection).
-You need to ask us.
-You have to conform to the current depth of the subway, Y32.6
-You need to be willing to either pay us to construct it or help construct it yourself (it's tougher than you think).
-You must construct a subway terminal to go along with it (an established chamber/ building for the subway station.) I would like to oversee this construction if it is alright with you.

Some Advice when building the subway:
-DO NOT USE IRON TOOLS. Believe me, you'll regret wasting the precious iron ore on tools once you need it for the subway tracks.
-Make sure you have the bloody coordinates right. And then make sure again. If you are just 1 block too high, too low, too far left, too far right, it messes up more of the subway than you think.

Let me know or post a request with your city name + population if you want to take part in this massive experiment. :)

Sounds awesome. I can donate some railway and minecarts. I have a significant amount for various reasons.
Also, for those who understand about minecarts...
In high lag long boosters tend to fail to reset, use multiple short boosters.

Also, if you are using a redstone system to control your subway, post diagrams of some sort so if it gets messed up, we don't have to wait for the one person who knows how it works to get back on to fix it.

I just tried it out, it's superfast, when it's finished you will be able to get across those 1000+ blocks in about 2 minutes. Great work :)

By the way, some guy, V3RSAC3, made his home adjacent to the tunnel, somewhere between Aquaria and the turn. Just giving you a heads up. :)

wow nice calculations twisted :P. and yes the subways are attracting the homeless + poverty stricken.
