Requesting Thread Moderation and Thread Lock:

Yesterday on February 15th, 2012 I was sorting through forum threads to pass some time while at my grinder. I came across a particular spelling error in the title and proceeded to view the thread to maybe make some suggestions as to how to improve his thread formats and professionalism. To my dismay, I saw that he was in fact upset over how some players were harassing him despite how much he asked them to stop. This incident was started by a statement in this picture inferring River33 was a 'retard'

This to me isn't shocking of course (no pun intended), but what caught me off guard was the immediate response from some of the people harassing him when he was in-game then going to his thread when he posted his concerns online. The fact that these players actually took the time to go from in-game harassment to forum posting is a bit malicious to me. Please see this thread for reference:

http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6336
I hope that this thread is locked to prevent future disputes.

There I saw multiple incursions of sarcasm and spiteful comments that even drove some of the players to defend River33's opinion. Yet the negative and sarcastic comments did not stop. Someone who is even banned from the in-game aspect of Minerealm began to troll in on this event and start making irrational comments that he had nothing to do with. Its just astounding that someone who is no longer permitted in-game can still harass people on the forums when he has nothing to do with those occurrences in the first place.

We all know name-calling can be passive and taken as a joke most of the time, but when we have constant negative comments from players; the whole name-calling thing begins to wear on not only the player receiving the insults, but the players who constantly have to tell people the stop poking; not to mention the term 'retard' can affect deep psychological issues a person may have and that is just wrong to entertain yourself with. I'd rather players start getting the idea of why we have discipline now instead of them getting out of control in the future. If there is any authority reviewing this, please review the thread link above and inquire on some of the harassing players in order to determine if further actions should be taken.

Sincerely,
-HydroBud

Is there any particular reason this wall of text was given its own thread instead of being posted in the complaining-about-mean-people thread you linked to?

Yes, for more admins and mods to see that it is more then a thing we need to fix. it is something they need to here and try there best to fix it. Ir is a more formal look of things.

In this picture, I was not calling him retarded. Just stating the fact that I don't get along with retarded people well.
Sorry you took it the wrong way.

This is really awesome for you to apologize Shockwave, I appreciate it even though none was directed towards me. I was definitely wrong in my judgments towards you.

You are commenting on a bans thread in which you have no relevancy to, therefore you have broken an official rule Kerovon*** has stated before about ban commenting.

Really? Whose ban appeal is this? Or is this a ban request? Oh wait... it doesn't seem to be either of those, so it didn't belong in the bans subforum in the first place. Nice try, buddy.

There's no specific place for a thread like this, but the bans sub-forum is about as close as a fit as possible.
However, since this is neither a ban appeal nor request, I believe it falls outside of the context of kerovon's post http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopi ... =20&t=6055.

Shock, I thank you for the apology but it is more broad then just one person. We were using you as a example for Admins and Mods to see what happens in-game.

Lets not use the term 'we' in this; River33 has nothing to do with this specific post other then supplying a screen shot of the initial incident. I am not trying to 'see what happens in-game'.
