I need clarification on Nether PVP.
I was less than 20 blocks from the portal, fixing all the griefs.
Unarmored and no sword. No intention of PVP.
If a player with full armor and sword comes straight at me after entering the nether then kills me.
Would that be against the rules?
However, to clarify, there are no "safe zones" in the Nether.
Q. Can I portal camp?
A. No. Portal camping is defined as waiting at a portal with intentions to kill players.
Since there are no "safe zones", theoretically speaking,
if I was near the portal fixing the grief and someone who just came into the nether attacked me, am I allowed to fight back since they provoked me?

as to the first part, fixing griefs, that was illegal pvp as road workers are safe from pvp, theoretically.

Second part, definitely!

No. In no situation should you even "consider" clicking the attack button. Let them kill you, even if you have a stack of diamonds on you. Any PvPing near the portal is illegal when one player has just entered the room. There is to be no confusion of that. (Any lost items can be force dropped by an admin)

The official position is that you can fight back. In reality, you are both likley to end up banned over it. It is better safe than sorry so if you want to ensure you don't get banned, don't fight back.

If this is indeed true, I'm going to have another conversation with the person who killed me since he/she said I died "fair and square by his sword."

Both players likely to end up banned?
I support full PVP in Nether with all the confusion that's coming up regarding Nether PVP.
If you log out to prevent death, is that illegal? The person logging out would be the person not intending to kill someone else. Asking this because I heard relogging during PVP is illegal and since the other person isn't participating in PVP, they should be allowed to log out to prevent death.
I feel like you need to have fraps on the whole time in nether to prove your innocence or for evidence.
