Well, Here's the story:

Joined today, had lots of fun building a random house at around X:4400,Y:2800,
Later tried to migrate to In33dfriendz' house at around X:-1700,Y:-1200, but I met McLoaded on the way.
He had a giant desert-based construction, like a floating castle/island thing and I asked if I can "live" there. He agreed and tucked me in his small farming island.
In his litle farming area, I set up my chests and stuff and we tried expanding a bit, so I tried some redstone stuff. Real hard, went downstairs in his building and waited for him to give me rights to the bigger land too, so I Can construct a redstone circuit there to test it cleanly. While he was typing up the rights thing, I was jumping. Thought it'd be fun to place a block under me and have a double and triple jump while I wait, so I did that for a while, the blocks dissapear due to rights restriction, and he said "Ok you have rights" and i stopped jumping, fell to ground, walked towards him and Bang! Banned for flight.

What I really did is glitch exploit the server delay and realm building restriction to make a harmless doublejump in one place, until Help Bot murdered me for it... Could have had atleast a warning jeez.
Never knew I could trigger the system that way. McLoaded saw me hopping doublejumps and triples there, didn't say anything as far as I know. Had so much fun too.

But really. I know it's bad to exploit the system like that, and I never would have used it to get into people's buildings and stuff, It was just to kill time at the moment. I'm sorry for exploiting it, won't repeat it again, but really. I didn't cause actual harm with it. Really. And I meant no harm either.

-Pros:
Server rocks, better than any other I've seen. The Credits system is awesome.
First community I see that doesn't force the user to be a victim to griefers or pay real money to the server.
Friendly community, Griefers and botters are banned on spot and give up before any actual damage.
The credit system is beyond genious.
Loads of players!

-Cons:
Lag. Who doesn't have it with such a overpopulated server xD

I was searching some of the ban appeals to see if anyone else had the same problem as me, and this is a very similar case (my ban appeal topic is here -> http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopi ... =20&t=3976)

Since I was in a public realm when mine happened, I don't think it's directly related to that exploit, but has more to do with minecraft losing packets in transmission and the bot thinking that you went from y=60 to y=62 when you really went from y=60 -> y=61 -> y=62. This is just my hypothesis on the situation...I'm not sure if the packets are timestamped or not and if so, how accurate they are. Hopefully they're not just number sequenced, as that would certainly cause problems like this.

Anyway, I urge the bot developer(s) to look into this, if possible (if it was developed specifically for this server). And please also consider my own appeal, as well as this one (again, mine is http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopi ... =20&t=3976).

But no, really. Does the bot have to ban on first sign of botting? Even though it's botting detection is silly.
All it checks if I'm following the logical rules of the game. That means walking block by block. Not a step every 2 blocks. Those could be skipped due to lag, like the fence glitch. The server didn't really recognise you standing on a 1.5 high block , so it banned you for hacking (Flying 0.5 Heigth), but notch fixed it.

What I'd suggest is some sort of client that lets you play on here. That's what most people do with games. They ask you to download a modded client with integrated anti-cheat security systems. That way you can add updates and many other custom mods. A custom chat, a custom UI, just loads of baloney.

It should allow people to "visit" with normal clients and allow them to hack to explore and such and tell them the rules, tell them to download the custom client, but not allow them to build. Something like a "Griefer" rank if they aren't using the original client. Chances are, nobody's gonna sit around to make a hack for this client, being that there are milions of other servers out there.

And you don't even need to code a new client, just mod the minecraft.jar with some additional parameters. The more variables you have, the easier to check if you're hacking :>

But that's just me being a idea nerd. xD

Edit: Why not enable fligth and force it on non-minerealm client so they can look around easier?

Possibly a scripted tutorial for the server if you're not using the original client. Basicly, it'd push you around the city to look around, while spamming your chat with tutorial messages, then take you around some famous realms.

And instead of putting the rules on signs, why not spam it in their chat. That way you would avoid the infamous no text sign glitch (From lag). I just got so many ideas. >:L

Edit(2): Or even add a bot that unbans you from game as soon as you post an appeal, something like a trial.. while your destiny is decided. So you don't have to wait a few hours off the awesum server .-.

So, a "Banned" rank on servers and ability to be kick/banned from anyone on the server?
It'd allow him only to chat and build in a "Banned Realm" which would be some sort of 250x250 jail where banned people can **** around. They should be locked in there.
That way you can stack yo blocks while being banned. Chat to your buddies unless they finish you off.
Seems decent enough doesn't it? And if someone on server uses the kick/ban unfairly in the server, it could be invesigated to remove the "hidden" assholes-

of the community that grief and blame others, act like good people, but actually annoy the nation and eventually become powerhungry mods. :/

But that's just me throwing ideas like crazy. :lol:
