Regarding older ban appeals

Greetings, i was wondering why some ban appeals created a while ago are left to rust while newer appeals are being reviewed everyday? The older appeals are merely doing what is asked of them, being patient. However they are being neglected and forgotten. I know it may be a lengthy process to evaluate a single appeal, yet shouldn't the system be fair in ordering those who have waited? My friend and I have been waiting for his case to be looked at for sometime now, and I can see through the ban forum, some even longer. It's getting to the point where many have been searching for a new server to play on. This is a great server and it's a shame for many to sit and wait months to be able to once again build with their friends. So that's my enquiry. Why does this happen?

If you've waited this long, your friend probably won't get unbanned. Sorry.

I think older appeals, ones that go past page 4 can be bumped up by the appealer, otherwise they will be forgotten if not bumped (only when they go past page 4)

An ignored appeal is basically a nicer form of rejection. Also, you, your friend, and anyone else appealing a ban should not be under the impression that you have a 'right' to be on this server, or even to ask for a second chance. The owner is actually fairly generous in that regard, since pretty much everyone is by default allowed to attempt to prove their worth after a ban.

As Bezzay noted, once you're past the fourth page, it's generally ok to bump an appeal.

I know they are very good, but I believe it would be curtious to let people know that their voice is being heard rather than just being ignored. And doesn't t seem that a bump in an appeal is appearing as impatient? I've seen one thread whom the man bumped his 3 times, still not receving an answer. I will tell my friend to bump his through. Thanks for the info.

Just bump the appeal.

I will, but I was curious what is the system for evaluating an appeal? How are they chosen?

Admins randomly skim them and if one jumps out at them, they pick it. The rule of thumb is to bump if it falls to the third page or further. If you read lots of appeals, you will quickly discover that the admins almost never reject an appeal, they simply ignore it if they are not going to unban the person.
