He was trying to scam me out of a Smite IV/Knockback II Diamond Sword earlier, too. I don't have screenshots, but he claimed to have sent me credits (He didn't) and was asking for the sword. He gave up rather quickly, though.

He initially told me to go to spawn for the trade... I thought that was odd and suggested he type /trade. Wish i would have went with my instinct. Not only did i lose 5500, but i even made sure i payed for the tax. ARGhhhhhhhhhhh See where being nice gets you?

At the moment guitjac is trying to give you back the credits (which doesn't work, as you're offline) which pretty much confirms that he never had the diamonds to give you...

Just a tip - guitjac is holding planks in your screenshots. I never trade (except with known players) unless they have the item we're trading in their hand at the time. That at least means they have one of the trade item, so hopefully the deal is solid. Likewise I always make sure I'm holding the trade item when I'm selling so the buyer can see I have it.

Resolved, I talked with the player and returned your credits he apologized and claims to be new and unaware of how the trades worked.

Always get a visual of the items you are supposed to get first. Make them do half and then pay, there's other alternatives but never give them the credits first.
