I have just been banned alongside a fellow minerealm player – “Lewoforever” we were out looking for cows for our farm when we came across a house that was sitting with no roof and had chests inside, this house was not protected by a realm and had no active use using the house that we could see?

On further investigation we went into the house and looked in the chests, since there was no one around and the house was not protected by a realm we assumed this was ok to take some items from the chests?

If this was wrong I do apologise and sincerely hope that I can make amends for my actions, as i was unaware that even though a building does not have realm protection it is disallowed to take items from chests inside.

We were not out to steal nor looking for buildings to loot, we were simply looking for cattle for our farm when this occurred.

I Cannot Stress this enough, with what tmbum has said. I indeed was acompanying him and suffered the same fate. I hope this is allowed as a ban appeal for both of us. If you need more information from me or a seperate ban appeal. No problem

What you did was in fact looting. It is not alright to take anything that doesn't belong to you. If you think an area is abandoned, you can contact a staff member, who will check the area for you to confirm whether or not it is abandoned.

Ahh see i was not aware of this, i assumed that it was not classed as stealing if the chests were out with a protected realm, i know where i have gone wrong now, that has indeed shined some light on the situation at hand thank you!

I hate having to do this but is anyone able to let me know where I stand this this appeal? I would love to hear back on what the decision is regarding this ban appeal

This is exactly why we tend to STRESS the fact that if you find a place as you described to tell staff. You have no idea if it has been griefed or looted, so adding onto that just makes it look worse on the players that get banned.

I do apologise I have been reading through the rules and to my surprise I was un aware of a few.
I was not aware that you should report it to staff and on that not I can understand why I was banned, I assumed from the way the house looked that it had been abandoned and on visual inspection, it having no roof and a few broken windows that it was left by the owner, my realm is situated over the mountain under the ice water, so I had indeed passed the house once or twice before and noticed that it had not been touched in a while hence the snooping around at the time of my ban.

I understand there are rules in play to make gameplay better for everyone and by my actions i can see how i have crossed the line unknowingly.

I can admit it would be a shame to be banned permanently from this server as i have had many hours of fun in the past year with friends and other players that i have met along the way, but if my wrongs can amended than i would very much like to try.

This is the reason you need to ask staff before doing anything with a found area. Just because the area appears abandoned does not mean it is actually abandoned, as you are now aware. As for this appeal, keep bumping once per day until you have a response. Props for a well written appeal by the way, most are done very badly. Your apologetic attitude and polite demeanor go a long way in how your appeal will be viewed, both by staff and by other players.

Thanks for such positive feed back jackavsfan, Indeed i do now know more on the rules that i did not know before and will be more aware in game to prevent this from happening again, not only is it inconviniant for myself but for the server administrators + moderators aswell.
