Lol, you think this is the future.....try the past and present....

Wolfenstein->Doom->Quake->Unreal->Red Faction...etc etc etc

Bard's Tale->Eye of the beholder->etc

thousands of platformer clones, overhead rpg clones, turn-based battle rpgs clones, etc...
etc
etc
etc

The same goes for any mass media: movies, music, literature, television, plays, comedy.....

People copy success; it is both human nature and the reason we don't still live in caves.

Etc. actually is an abbreviation for 'et cetera' in Latin, which means 'and other'. It is a phrase used to express the continuation of something such as vegetables: apples, bananas, pears, etc. Literally it means, 'and so on'
