my Steam client is using like 50% of my CPU these days, setting it on low priority doesn't seem to help either, does anyone have similar problems?

I've been having steam using most of my CPU, and it slowed my computer way down, usually ending the process worked, but if I wanted to play any games, it'd be stupidly slow.
I have uninstalled steam, and computer performance has been up.

Steam itself never uses any of my CPU. The games do however, obviously. (This is why a 6-Core CPU comes in handy, children)

yeah, but you dont want to lose an entire core to operate steam, even if it is in the background with no games runing.

Steam uses 0% of my CPU. Always. How many cores is your CPU?

Ever since I got Steam (It was in 2011 sometime I think) it has been eating my CPU. I have a dual core Intel Pentium T4500.
But this question would be better posted on
