Oh, and i forgot to mention that i liked the 'Homeland' series which was aired recently over here. Last episode is this sunday, hope its good!

Various alien-based series that were cancelled prematurely (Threshold, the 2009 remake of V).
Also, Big Bang Theory. Lots of people I know also watch that one, and many of them compare me to Sheldon.
