Looking for a new texture - please help

So I’ve been playing all this time just using the classic texture.

Now I would like to have a textures with the highest possible resolution and detail and yet still stays true to the original.

I am no fan of re-designed or over-designed minecraft graphics and pretty much all of those “rich” texture packs out there on the internets don’t appeal to me at all…

So I am looking for a pack that is virtually identical with the default or at least not too far from it.

Could someone reckommend a pack that meets that requirement?

My OS is windows 7 64

Regards,

Stick with the default.

Personally, I generally use the default. I've also used Painterly Pack, which can (depending on the options you pick) be pretty close to the original designs.

I use LB Photo Realism 256x256. Your computer has to be pretty good to run it though, so you can use their other versions, going anywhere from 16x16 (standard MC resolution) up to 128x and 256x

Stick with default, but if you must change, try the quandary pack (16x16 but very nice, sticks true to default)

The closest you will get to default at a higher resolution than 16x16 is the faithful 32x32 pack which is very nice and very close to the default pack. Definitely my first choice for a 32x32 pack. I cant bear anything higher than 32x32, 64x64 at the very highest.

Using mip-mapping in optifine will also decrease blurriness with hi-res textures..
