I think it's great, but to improve it, I would make the guys show up a tiny bit more.

This would be good. Either changing their color or the background color would be helpful.

Also, the variation in pixel count for some parts of the background looks kind of odd. (Compare the two areas I circled, for example.)

The flame-like design along the bottom is extremely well-done though--definitely my favorite part of the image.

Thanks for the help and the complement. :) The flames were fairly easy to do. I made a brush earlier this year for fun. I could probably make a tutorial for making them.

Yes, I definitely like the background better in the new version. The guy on the left is still a little bit tough to see against the background, but the guy on the right is good.
