It is all lies, why would they take down FaceBook? FaceBook is where the Mass Media are not in control and where you and everyone else is, this video is by the Mass Media, do no do what it is instructing or you will be singled out.

Lol, nice virus. I especially like some of the propagation code. At least darwinism is at work on the internet.

Facebook is the perfect target actually, it'll get media attention and it's something that if it goes down, millions will want to know why...

A part of history? More like a footnote in an esoteric academic journal about Internet History.

Couldn't listen to that video and NOT think of the Borg.

YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED.
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

But on a serious note, while DDoS'ing sites is illegal, and I will not be taking part... If they manage to shut down large sites it may act as an attention grabber for the average internet user (read: the internet users who only use youtube, email, etc, and don't do much browsing).

It would have to be one heck of a big attack in order to be an attention getter. Popular sites like facebook gave huge amounts of traffic all the time--just for normal operations, they need to be able to accommodate lots of visitors. So if an attack that relies on increasing server load to the point of a crash was to be carried out against facebook, it would have to be extremely large in order to cause even a slight disruption of normal service. And a slight disruption probably wouldn't bother people enough to make them look into the cause--it would need to be a pretty big problem (site down for a full day, or something) to really get people mad. So Anonymous would need to scale things up quite a bit from their usual shenanigans if they really want to pull this off.

I wonder about that, how hard would it be to make Facebook crash? I know not easy, but if Anonymous got some big Botnets into it and attacks during one of the peak hours, where the servers are already strained by the normal users I think they could manage to do so and after that the server load from the normal users is what is interesting, will it go down, because many think "Oh, its down, well will come back in a few hours" or will it go up, because everyone constantly reloads the site, thereby keeping it down.
Also they wouldn't even need to crash the servers, if they can just increase the site loading time by 200-500%, I think that would already get (some) peoples attention.

And if they really manage to crash the server, how hard would it be to bring back on? I mean Facebook is made to be continuosly running, is it simply "push button and wait for boot" or do they have some more complex boot processes? Not to speak about potential data corruption. But that depends on how clean the code of facebook really is.

All of those things would be interesting to know in this context, but I doubt that anyone outside of Facebook would be able to tell. And I doubt anyone inside of Facebook is willing to tell.

This angers me. This is proof that it has become war.

This makes me laugh. This is 100% ridiculous and not believable

This makes me eat cake. Because cake is good.
