Portal Unblock Request: Toxicwalrus

I am directing this request towards the player in the title. Please unblock your portal as I am forced by the properties of nether portals, to return to the real world through yours. It is extremely inconvenient to be stuck in it. When I am stuck, I lose my ability to type and therefore cannot teleport out by any means, sometimes re-logging fixes it but other times I need to contact an admin through an outside source to teleport me out of your portal.
I am making this a forum post due to the fact that this is a very common practice among players across Minerealm. I feel the need to bring it up as an issue for us all to consider when we do or do not leave space in the nether portal to turn around. I would like to urge all players to please leave a courtesy space in your portal rooms as unfortunately, in some cases, many people are forced to use your portal to return to the world.
As for the so called "benefits" of blocking off a nether portal, there are no benefits that you could possibly reap that justify the great inconvenience you may be causing other players.

Personally, I think portal blocking is a great practice that should be encouraged whenever possible. If you go through some random unknown portal, or even a worse a portal you know to be blocked, you should be punished in this manner. If you can't find a safe portal, die in magma.
Although it might be more polite to leave turn around room or even a piston returner to shove the traveler back into the portal, it certainly should not be necessary. If you make the mistake of traveling into a dangerous portal, you should suffer.

No justification is necessary--the private realm owner gets to decide whether the portal is accessible to other players. You're certainly within your rights to request that portals be kept free for everyone, but anyone who decides otherwise is within their rights to make that decision.
As for a solution to being inconvenienced by players who refuse to unblock their private portals, I suggest manually building a new portal in the Nether, located at {0.125*X, Y, 0.125*Z} with {X, Y, Z} being the location of the overworld portal to which you want to connect.

Went to the nether, had full iron armor, found some nether wart, got some blaze rods, even got about 12 glowstone dust by chance so i was low on health and went to a nearby portal, i ported out and was pushed down a hundred block pit to my doom, there really isnt a point to this

I think I wandered through your portal once, and would like to formally thank you for leaving the space to turn around, it is greatly appreciated.
I have placed my portal in every conceivable location withing reasonable walking distance of my home and it ALWAYS goes to this blocked portal, I don't think people understand that I do not have a choice in the matter.

Well I am urging (key word, I'm just asking, not commanding) people to keep their portals open or leave turn around room. If someone decides to place blocks in front of it that they know will cause a player to glitch out in an unpleasant manner I personally think they ought to be punished, because they are intentionally inconveniencing people, but I tried that argument and everyone cried about it. So all I can do, is ask people to please unblock their portals or leave turn around room or something, anything but block them up with blocks for no other reason besides that they can.

I know for a fact that that is not allowed, you can have that person banned. Indirect pvp without any type of warning is against the rules no matter where it is (they need to warn you several times in public chat and PM to get out, or put a sign up indicating death traps).

Actually, unless he was physically pushed (not actually possible as you can't place pressure plates in the portal, so no piston pushing), then it's his own fault for walking out and dying. If we followed that rule, then the people who made the pit at spawn would have been banned long ago. It's not a deathtrap if you walk into it because you don't check where your going.
Also, the Nether is by no means the only available for of transportation. You choose to run the risk of death if you want to travel fast.

Portal blocking can cause people to get badly stuck so that a mod needs to rescue them. There should be some room to walk out of the portal and then go back into it. If you post the coordinates, an admin can unblock portals that are sealed like that.

It should be clear now. /removenear is not a precision tool, so some of the other stuff around it (Floor and whatnot) may have been effected too. I consider that a relatively minor punishment for blocking a portal like that.
