I think it's Caroline, and Cave is the father.

Could be. Apparently Portal takes place in the same universe as Half Life (e.g. the Borealis ship), but I think Portal or at least Portal 2 is pretty far in the future, well after the Combine invasion... so there's also the possibility that Chell is the descendent of some character from Half Life. Great-granddaughter of Gordon and Alyx, maybe?

Cave and Caroline adopted chell. Caroline brought her to work on "bring your Daughter to work day". Chell was 17(not sure?) That's the day the technicians pulled caroline aside and forced her personality/psyche into GLaDOS. :3

Doubt it, there have been hits of Alex venturing into Aperture. >.> Aperture and Back mesa were both in the race for portal tech when the deal was struck with the combine on behalf of Black mesa. If its in the future, its sure as heck isnt that far.
