Some Thoughts

I'm taking a break from Minerealm for a couple of weeks. This is NOT a goodbye thread, but a "be back in a bit" thread for the few of you who'd notice if I dropped of the face of the server suddenly.
That said, it's not the administration of this server that's the issue. I haven't agreed with some of the recent bans that have been laid out, but upon reflection, and receiving The Management's side of the story, they are perfectly understandable and said courses of action were the necessary and appropriate ones to take, in my opinion. Intelli, and what administrators/mods are left, has done a fine job running this server, and if you hate what he's doing, go open your own damn server. Until then, shut up.
Now, with THAT said, my issue is the player base. There's just too much bitching and drama going on. I'm not going to name names, but here are some of the things I've seen:
Portal Camping
Incessant Complaining about Portal Camping
Dishonest Players
Trolls (who have since been banned)
Not letting the banned players rest, and constantly hating on them. Since he's been banned, I have yet to have a single session on Minerealm where someone hasn't rejoiced at this and trumpted either his flaws, how much they hate him, or both. We get it, you dis-like Kress91. LET IT GO, HE'S BANNED.
People hating on The Management. I've been guilty of this too, but except for a few PMs, I keep my opinion to myself, for the most part. This isn't your server, get the HELL over it, and either move to a new one, or start your own. Just CHILL. Let the man run his server how he sees fit. Criticism is okay, but the blatant dis-regard of respect that I've seen is unacceptable. If you must express this, keep it in PM's with like-minded people. If I came into your house, and called your mother a whore, wouldn't you kick me out?
Glowstone. There's nothing more to be gained from debating Glowstone but hurt feelings that'll come from personal insults and accusations of greed and profiteering, which is all that is left to say in the argument. Both sides have valid points, but the bottom line is, there's nothing that can be done about it. As with the bans, let sleeping dogs lie. Also, I'm aware Intelli closed the thread, I'm just stating my opinion for when the argument inevitably flares up again. Also, glowstone is ugly as sin. Torches FTW. Just sayin'.
People arguing over bans: This falls under dis-respect of The Management.
Forum Drama,and General Idiocy: This speaks for itself
Also, I'm just as guilty as the rest of you. I curse too much on the server, and it's a miracle I have yet to be banned. I've also done my fair share of bitching about multiple things. Once I return, no more.
The point of the game is to BUILD, people. It's not PVP, Roleplaying, or anything else. It's to BUILD with friends, and have fun while doing it. Don't ever forget that.
Well, I've had my piece. I'm gonna take some personal time, chill, and come back refreshed and ready to build. Maca, just hold my things in the chests in that realm until I return. I'll be checking the forums while I'm gone. I'll see you guys next year.
