It's one of those things you need to watch to "get".

The first two episodes are on Youtube (it's a two-parter). At least watch those so you're informed about what you hate instead of blindly hating it based on random assumptions.

okay so i like the pink pony but that's it. but it just amazes me how all of the sudden grow ups fall in love with a childrens show.

grumps always fall in love with childrens shows.. Futureama, Robot Chicken, Simpsons...

It is kinda surprising to be honest. It's the little subtle jokes that are thorn in there for the parents. Not to mention that there is a plot, the characters are well developed beyond the usual "OMG I LOVE PINK LETS PAINT EACH OTHERS NAILS AND TALK ABOUT BOYS", the animation is crisp and the songs are catchy.

Also, the fandom is pretty spiffy (Dr. Whooves, Derpy Hooves, DJ Pon3, Ally Way, ect. ect..)

Bronies become jerks when you insult other bronies. They are like a huge corrupt family of bronies.
