I would just like to tell everyone Happy Halloween, and be safe tonight if you go trick or treating.
Check the candy and make sure it is safe to eat!

That's what preservatives are for. Soaking the apples in formaldehyde should help prevent any kind of spoilage.
Edit: Only after seeing Cog's picture for the third time did I realize that there were things some people consider inedible mixed in with those gumdrops. lol'd hard.
