This flower seemed to have spawned naturally pretty close to bedrock right next to lava. I've only ever seen stuff this deep before was tall grass and only once before. Has anyone seen stuff like this?

I've never seen it, but there's enough light there for it to be possible

Seems pretty cool though, I would like to hollow out a mine and make a house with flowers and trees all underground. If I could somehow get animals to get down there too, that'd be interesting.

Someone probably placed it. I do it all the time...

Underground grass, flowers and even trees occur naturally. They do require abnormal light conditions and a lot of luck though.
