As the question states, Kindle or Nook?

I'm wanting an electronic library for Christmas and I can't seen to decide which one is better, or worse.

I would probably like a touch screen, don't care about color, and needs to have wifi of course.

So just post what you think is best by thought or experience!

My Nook is rooted and running full android (MIUI) and it plain ole rocks...

Kindle is great for just reading, but nook is great for that and EVERYTHING else.

Nice, so it can have apps, search the Internet, ect?

I think I will want mine for plainly reading.

But yes, I run all the Android apps I want....sadly for my I am passing it onto my Aunt who is having knee surgery and needs something while she recovers. BUT, lucky for me that means I am picking up the Asus Transformer.

Actually, the new Kindle Fire will be a full up android tablet like the Nook. If you are looking for a more tablet like thing, I would say the Kindle Fire is probably better than the Color Nook (At least until B&N releases a new version). If you are looking for a straight up eInk display ebook reader only, I think they are more on par, though I would probably be inclined towards the Nook in that case, partly because I like B&N and want them to continue having physical stores.

Well considering I use my iPod for all my app needs I think the Kindle will be the better option for me.

Kerovon- Yes I do hope they continue to keep going. I really enjoy visiting their stores.

I own a Kindle for my school reading. It. Rocks. 100% just for reading, with not back light display. That means you can read it in broad daylight. Easy to read and easy to hold, EXTREMELY light, and overall a great product. You should get a Kindle if you really want to only read books.

Also, the new Kindle Fire is gonna be SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.
